Does anyone know what type of batteries are fitted to the IR style plip? Mine are missing.

Thanks

Hi Bigjohn

The owners handbook says CR2025 (3v) quantity 2 but I usually fit CR2032's as these are the same voltage and size but have a greater capacity and are more generally available. Even my local Tesco has the CR2032 at what I consider to be an unreasonable price.

Thanks Xmexc
Sainsburies also sell them (CR2032) at vastly inflated prices, £1.99 each. The plip is now working perfectly (for the moment).

Hi Bigjohnh

Glad to help. I usually expect to pay 50p each but the sources are a bit irregular.

Hi All

Just a note to say that the Mk1 and Mk2 plips both take the same batteries so CR2032 will fit all XM plips.

I swapped my dead ones for the ones in the company car. Never mind. The boss can afford it......
