Door Wont Stay Shut

Hi Guys,

I've just collected an XM from westernXM and on the way home...

When i opened the passengers door, it now wont stay shut, it just bounces back open.

The little snib on the door moves fine, but doesn't lock when it gets to the top, i've tried soaking it all in WD40, but no joy, just wondering if anybody could help me.

Hi David,

Although the external door handle will be back in its proper location the mechanism behind the door skin will still be in the "opening door" postion. Hence, when you try to close the door the mechanical mechanism is in the door release position so the sneck won't latch. No option other than to take off the inner door skin to access the mechanism I'm afraid. Other than that a good few hard thumps from outside may budge the levers.

Hi David,

Try using the key in the lock a few times,that released the mechanism when it happened to me.
I must reiterate this car was sold for scrap/spare parts only,not to be returned for use on the public road.
