Hi does anybody know how to open a door which doesn not open via door handles .I'm not shure if dead bolt is keeping it from opening as all other doors work fine
The locking button on door raises on unlocking with remote or key but the returns to locked position and when forced into the open posiition (up) has no effect at all.Worked fine up untill now can't work mit out .Any advice would be apreciated.

Hi Rayco,

Would that be a front door or a rear door which is giving you grief?

Cheers

Hi Rayco,

The fact that the button rises says that the deadlock and the normal lock is off. My guess is that the part of the lock which the lever from the door handle button pushes against is stiff or siezed and the lever is missing it.

The long term fix is to strip the door lining off and lubricate the locking mechanism liberally, exercising the lock whilst you do it. However, I appreciate you can't get the lining off until you get the door open. Did I hear something about chickens and eggs? I can only suggest banging on the outside of the door with the palm of your hand whilst simultaneously operating the key or plip. If its only just started to seize up then the added vibration might just be enough to work it loose just the once so that you can get the door open and have a go at the lock.

Best of luck. Please let us know if you're successful.

Cheers
