Singing Wheel, Front wheel noisy on corners

The offside front wheel on my V6 howls on left-hand bends. I have cleaned the pads and put some clever copper-based grease on the sliders, just in case the pads were sticking - no change. This previously happened on the nearside and I paid £170 to have the caliper unit replaced, which I would like to avoid this time. The disks are worn, with a 2 or 3mm ridge round the edge, which is wearing a camber on the edge of the pads. Perhaps it is that, or might it be the piston sticking. If it is the piston, can anyone point me at info about removing/cleaning/replacing it?

I'm not too sure its connected to brakes. It sounds more like wheel bearing to me. What happens to the noise if you brake when the noise is audible? Does it get louder or quieter?

Hi Macleod just read your post .
Please ensure your disc wear is not below the minimum thickness.
When you stated a three or four mil ridge at the edge of the disc it made me think perhaps your disc is too thin .
Not sure what the minimum is do please check.

The singing momentarily stops if I touch the brakes. I did consider the bearing, but the replacement of the nearside caliper stopped the problem on that side. At that time, I noticed that the discs were getting hot, suggesting a sticking brake. The garage owner who fitted the caliper htought that the handbrake mechanism was not releasing properly, but I am not entirely happy with his diagnosis - although the new caliper did cure the problem

Cured - the piston was corroded and sticking. It has been cleaned and new pads fitted and now runs silently - and the car stops.
