Can anyone help please.
I am trying to fit a new starter motor to my 1996 2.5td. I have removed the intercooler and now need to remove the intercooler mounting bracket. I have removed the 13mm bolt from the lower left hand side and a 10mm nut from around the side near the top right hand side. The bracket is still firmly fixed but I can't see anymore bolts. Can anyone help please?

Hi Jacky

Had a look at the engine in the scrap car this evening but then realised I have left the intercooler insitu ready to lift out with the engine. Was getting too dark to see the bracket so I will try to have a look in daylight and let you know.

Regards

Thanks for trying for me, I have now found the other 2 retaining points and removed the bracket. Fitted the new starter motor today, I am going to fit new glow plugs while everything is out to see if that solves my problem previously listed on here. (Blue grey smoke on starting)

I have to say, there's not a great deal of room to work on these.

Once I get the top end put back together I am putting on new track rod ends, discs and pads front and back, bleed the system then hopefully see it through its mot.
The car has only done 68k and I love it to bits.
I know that the next thing is the cam belt, I would imagine that this is a job for the garage?

Will keep you informed
