Hi,

Whilst removing the ECUs to add the diodes to the Hydractive ECU I noticed a taped up 'lump' shoved next to the ECU. On untaping it, it's a diode in a plastic housing that's plugged into the loom. The part of the loom it's plugged into only consists of these 2 wires which if you removed the diode housing would plug together.

Does anyone know what it does? Only having owned diesel XMs before I've never seen this kind of thing.

Thanks.

Steve.

Sounds a bit like a diode repair kit incorrectly fited, but a photo would help.

Sounds exactly as techman described, the well known diode to fix the electrovalve issue which causes suspension hardness.

I'll try and get a photo tomorrow. I've never seen anything quite like it, it's a single diode in a plastic 'housing' (not a potting box) that plugs into part of the loom that hasn't been split off.

After trawling through the Citroen manual it seems to be part and parcel of the engine/injector harness. It can be seen on page 1115 on the 'Noz' disc. I can only assume it provides a feed to the injection relay/ecu that could back feed if the diode wasn't there. I could disconnect it and ask Lexia what it thinks is going on.
