Dear all.
Few months ago my central locking system died. I´ve lost the only RF Plip i have... so i´ve just bought n aftermarket Central Locking kit to fit and bypass the OEM system.
Has anyone have a wiring diagram and info where to get the wires from on a S2 XM (1998 orga7792), in order to get connection to this unit. I want to save time and experiments that could burn something.
Basically i need Info where to get the wires to the central unit.
Wiring diagram is this one.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171798201086?_tr...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Another thing.
Does someone has to sell for a S2, the third central stop light (the one that goes inside the rear window?)
Mine is completely broken.

Hi Miguels

The RF receiver on the XM remote door lock system is found under the glove box on RHD cars.
I need to check if LHD cars are the same.
I will check this out.

The remote receiver is a large black box 100mmx65mmx32mm with a white 9 pin
connector.
It should be marked TEXTON 96160582.80

I think that white connector is the best place to add your aftermarket remote system.

Only 5 of the connector pins are used (6 on a few 1996 XM's).
Pin functions are:-
A1 - Information output - dual output - locking & deadlocking.
A2 - Information output - unlocking
A4 - Not used unless vehicle not fitted with alarm.
A5 - Information output - alarm identity to ADC keypad (6th wire on 1996 XM's only).
B1 - Earth
B2 - Ignition controlled 12v +ve.
B3 - Battery permanent 12v +ve.
B4 - Not used on XM.
B5 - Not used on XM.

You will find that the above gives you the power supply to run you new remote system.
You will most likely find that the 3 signals for information output will not quite match up to how Citroen send this information over two wires.
One of the signals turns up on the wrong wire.
Citroen used a system that was not adopted as a standard.
You can sort this either by linking the wires using diodes or using the boot open wire
as the 3rd signal.

I will look through the wiring diargam for your new system and see if I can add more specific information.

John

Dear John.
You are a star.
Thank you so much for your valuable help.
I am still a little bit confused, but i will wait for your next info to better understand where i can connect those diodes and how to connect everything.
I will try also to find out where i can get a wire for Windows rol up.

Brgds and thanks a lot.

Hi Miguels

Some progress to report but not all good.

I need to know more about your XM.
RHD or LHD and country marketed?
engine and model type? (first part of VIN would be ideal).

The reason for the above is that Citroen varied the alarm/remote system to meet each countries requirements.

In checking out LHD cars I found a photo posted by Gabor on another website.
The same size black box and white connector were present.
It was also similarly located under the dash glove box as in Mk2 RHD XM's.
It had a different part number (96275409.77).
Unlike the RHD cars the wiring was present in all 9 pins of the connector.

Xm's with this extra wiring is not something I have worked on.
Somewhere I have copies of Gabors wiring information for LHD 2.5 XM's.
I will see if I can find that information.

Just have to be sure I know which model XM to know if I can give the right information to you.

John

Hi Miguels

Look in the self help files.

You will find a copy of Gabors "circuit diagram project".
That contains a full circuit diagram for a LHD 2.5 XM orga 7261.
It also has Gabors wiring and electrical component location information.
Virtually all should be the same as your 2.5.
There is also a link to Gabors website where I found the photo of the remote receiver.

Dear John. Tks for your continuous support.
I just need your help concerning some indications on the diagram. The numbers shown, how they reflect in the car? Are they wiring numbers? Then there´s white numbers in black background and vice versa. I´m much more confused now.
I´m not a nerd in electronics and electrics but the schematics are sometimes a problem to me.
I´ve looked also on the Power Windows diagram and i can´t find a wiring for Windows roll up.

Tks my friend.

There is no central wiring in any XM's for windows roll-up.
Just the wiring in the individual doors and between the drivers and passenger door.
So adding roll-up would need quite a bit of in-car extra wiring.
The main problem then is likely to be adding extra wires to the door connectors.
As far as I know there are no spare pins in the front door connectors.

If you have found the TEXTON remote receiver unplug it and look into white socket.
With the label underneath you should see two rows of contacts across the socket.
Row A is the top row, pin 1 is on the left and pin 3 the middle pin is missing.
Row B is the bottom row, all 5 pins present, B1 on the left across to B5 on the right.

Citroen have a set of standard conventions for wiring and plugs.
It is quite complex and has changed over time.
Plug are colour coded and polarised to prevent errors in plugging together.
Wires are also colour coded.
Gabors document lists these colours and describes the components plu position in the car.
By the time of your car I think Citroen were adding wire numbers as well.
Wire numbers, where used, are printed at regular intervals along the wires.

The pin functions I have listed in the earlier post are the same for RHD and LHD.
The extra wires used on LHD car are:-
A4 - vehicle without factory alarm - +12v.
B4 - vehicle without alarm - LH indicators.
B5 - vehicle without alarm - RH indicators.

Sorry not to be able to give a list of instructions specific to your project.
Just do not have that information.

John

John. Fair enough. I´ve been looking again and again to schematics and together with your explanation, things are much more clear now. I will try and keep you updated. Brgds and tks for your valuable help.
