Hi
I tried to fit a modern Blaupunkt CD player in my XM yesterday but the connectors are different.I need a wiring harness adaptor, but the 2 specialists that I contacted today said that it should fit straight in....which it doesn't.It is the original Clarion radio as is the wiring.Has anybody had this problem and if so where did you get the adaptor from?I suspect the Mk2's may accept the CD player direct but mine is a 1993 MK1. If its the clarion with square "braile " buttons, you wioll need a Clarion CDC 634 changer.
Its plug and play and even the steering wheel controls will work with it Mark PS Ebay is your best bet -------------------- 1995 2.1 VSX AC Leather dead and now beer cans

I got an adaptor for my Kenwood and they also do one for Sony, but I havn't seen any others. Just type the radio type and XM adaptor into your search engine.

Peter, Am looking at purchasing a Kenwood adaptor for my 1992 Series 1.5 XM. Wondered if you could help with the following question - are you able to advise whether I need to purchase a particular Kenwood head unit (ie one that allows connection to a steering mounted controls), or will any new Kenwood unit work? Thanks for your help, Regards, Greg This post has been edited by SpinifeXM on November 03, 2005 12:25 am |

Hi
I managed to get an adaptor for the wiring harness and the aerial for £16.It was a dual purpose part suitable for Peugeout models as well. Hope this helps. I have got the brand name if anyone needs it. Many thanks Rob -------------------- 1958 BMW Isetta 300 RHD with SMITHS SELECTROSHIFT

Hi Greg
Yes, you have to have a remote control compatable radio, I know Kenwood and Sony do them but there may be others. If you type "XM radio remote control" or something similar into your search engine, you should come up adaptor suppliers and they will possibly know if any others are available.
