As some of you know, I am starting to get into the habit of pulling an XM out of long term storage, where some Philistine owner goes over to the dark side and gets a new car but cannot bear to replace the super quality French barge and locks it in the garage for half a decade.

MoT'd today for the first time in almost five and a half years is my 2.0TCT VSX estate.

I bought it on Friday, drove it out the garage Tuesday and had it in for an MoT Wednesday. After its lay up it needed a new exhaust, the windscreen wipers replaced and the washers cleaned out.

Advisories on spheres and rear tyres, but nothing else.

Paid £250
spent £280 on MoT and work required to pass

needs suspension spheres at rear and a good valet! Otherwise, I think I got a bargain. It's amazing what 30 mins with a hose and sponge can do.

Looks very good. Does the sign in the background mean you sold your house to pay for it ?

lol - the car came from my estate agent's - it was his father's!

House is sold to buy one round the corner with a tandem garage and more space for the burgeoning amount of cars I own.
